Team Highlight: Girls Varsity Soccer (Week of 9/26-9/30)

On Tuesday night, the Girls Varsity Soccer team (3-4) faced off against Exeter (3-9-1) at Don Thomas Stadium at Exeter High School. This time around, the cross-town rivalry was won by your-own Blazers! The final score of the game was Boone: 2. Exeter: 0. Junior, Maggie Holloway scored both of the Blazers’ goals, while Junior, Anna Buckwalter assisted both [goals].

On Thursday night, the Blazers hosted the Wilson Bulldogs at home (Al Brazinsky Stadium). The Blazers jumped onto the scoresheet first, with Sophomore, Sophie Hogan scoring the goal. After the initial score, though, the Bulldogs scored next and that took the score to 1-1 at halftime. In the second half, the Bulldogs didn’t look back, as they scored two more goals and ended up defeating the Blazers 3-1. In a week with some tough opponents, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team emerged with a 1-1 record (4-5 overall) and seek to get back on track next Tuesday vs. Twin Valley.
